This course aims to introduce filmmaking from the Independent Producer’s perspective. It is an overview of the actions and processes necessary to bring an original film idea from paper to screen, from an initial concept to distribution. We’ll look at the skills and tools a producer might possess to navigate the financial, legal, and creative challenges of independent film production, as well as to foster fruitful collaborations with writers and filmmakers. The focus will be on lower budget filmmaking.
