DTHY 604/A (Fall 2024): GROUP/FAMILY DRAMA THERAPY

This course provides a dialectical, experiential and practical examination of the major approaches to group dynamics, including psychodynamic, humanistic, systemic, and theories of communication. Stages, theories and clinical applications of group drama

therapy processes are explored. This class will introduce students to different models of intervention in the practice of group and family drama therapy. The class will develop and strengthen clinical evaluation and intervention skills for leading and co-leading drama therapy groups. This class does not prepare students to conduct ongoing couples or family drama therapy as further training would be needed.
