In general, writing is one of the most durable, and available tools that we posses to discover and reflect ourselves to ourselves, and to others. In much the same way, writing may be used explore, set down, clarify, and share our thoughts and explorations of the world. In this course we will focus on aspect of this: on the planning, developing, writing, and editing of academic essays. To that end, the coursework will include diction, sentence structure, punctuation, paragraph development, and essay writing. Group work is part of this course. We will also be writing a lot in class, so please always come prepared with paper, pencils, laptops, etc.
