This course, developed by Concordia University's Office of Sustainability in collaboration with the fee-levy non-profit, Sustainable Concordia, prepares students to volunteer on campus with various sustainability initiatives across campus.

The training is divided up into 2 videos, together equaling a little over 30 minutes. After Part 1, students are asked to complete a multiple choice quiz to test their knowledge about campus sustainability groups, departments, and initiatives. They will then complete the Part 2 video, which is followed up with a short answer quiz.

By the end of these videos and quizzes, students will be able to:

  • Create an understandable, action-based definition for sustainability that can be uses with peers
  • Explain the web of sustainability and begin navigating it as a student
  • Describe what Concordia’s main goals are in the Sustainability Action Plan
  • Confidently approach peers to address sustainability issues
